Social Networking
As we all know, I’m a Net Head. I love the internet. I wish I could get paid to surf and seek etc. on the net. I was just looking at I’ve had my name for 8 years now, and that could be good or bad - because I’m imprinted in the net and I haven’t been the best with pictures and other things to link my ass to myself. As more and more of my fam gets on - I know eventually some shit gonna pop off since a quick google can have me ass out in a minute as to my traffic on here and where I kick it.
Anyhoo - J has been working overtime throwing smoke signals from inside the gate and she invited me to join Twitter. Now, we all know that I suffer from a slight case of AWS (Attention Whore Syndrome), and someone telling me that I can have ‘followers’ is an enticing thing, lol So I signed on up - got me some followers and started following some folks. It’s been interesting - because of the nature of my job AND my Berry - I can participate on a consistent basis - but there is pressure. There is a nagging feeling of ‘who really wants to follow my ass around on my day to day” At what point will I run out of witty thangs to say? Um, I’m nosey and I want to follow some folks. So if you are Twitting - let me know. Pamalicious is my handle! Find a sistah.
It made me think about the other two places I have gotten sucked into as well: Myspace and Facebook.
I STILL don’t exactly know what the hell Myspace is for. I personally use it to stalk celebrities, lol real or imagined. My space is filled with my ode to a darker Michael Jackson and is a necessity as my child is on there. However, I’m not interacting over there - I just have. I haven’t taken any time to cultivate any new relationships. I actually can forget I have an account. Once I connected with the folks I personally know - there was nothing else for me to do over there.
Now Facebook is a bit different. I like it - I like the way you network. I like that all the people on my page are folks I know in my off line life. I like that it is not reliant on reaching out to folks and I have games etc. that occupy my time over there. I LOVE FLAIR!! In some extra weird sorta landscape - 19 members of my family - well 20, are on Facebook. Imagine. I go over to see what folks are up to. I go over to read status etc. It seems as if I’m actually networking on Facebook.
I’m not sure where this blog entry is going (LOL) but I just found myself thinking of these social networking sites etc. and how I got sucked up in them.
Something else came to my mind recently due to a IM popping up that surprised me. All the years, all the ADD/DELETE/BLOCKS - I am in control of my side of the screen - not the other. So how many folks in this 8 years - still have my name all up and thru their Instant Messenger Program? Luckily I have a pretty good memory and if someone shows up I can wrap my mind around something about them.
So opening the forum - where you hanging out? Wanna hang out with me? Do YOU know what Myspace is for? LOL IF you had these things when you were say 14-15 - would you be just wrapping up a career as a porn start like I probably would have been , lol

I have been on Facebook for quite some time, but for some reason, Facebook has BLOWN UP in the last 5 or 6 months. Literally SO many people I know are on there - it is CRAZY! Like someone said, “It’ s like being at a cocktail party - only in your pajamas.” I don’t go on MySpace at all - I just don’t get it.
I’m definitely intrquigued by Twitter, but I’m like, only 2 people read my blog - who will follow me on Twitter?

Monica -
Wow I’ve never heard that saying about Facebook. It fits.
Well twitter doesn’t necessarily have to be about your blog. It can just be people you know from the blog. For instance some of my Twitter Friends are folks I’ve met interacting on blogs - they got lives even if they don’t blog.
Sign up and look me up
Hell we can twitt to each other, lol
