Oh what a beautiful morning (for musing)

Hey everybody! I know I know - it’s Monday and there’s a song in my throat and a skip in my step. The weather breaking will do that to you. I hope everyone had a good weekend - I definitely did. I mean it was good. I don’t know how we got into the we got activity of some sort every weekend (and it doesn’t always cost). We just like to really enjoy that time off and be out in the street, lol
I spent some mother/daughter time with mini-me and we went shopping! Yep and there was not one argument or anything, AND it was at the…GASP thrift! Yes sir! I still get in a quandry sometimes about the bad rap the thrift gets. I understand teenagers being mortified (to an extent cause as white teens flock to Plato’s closet - um that’s a thrift store, lol) but it is not like the thrifts of old where everything looked like little house on the prairie and it smelled and you were mortified - times have changed and they are no different than the freaking Kmart to me. With my $60 budget, and an open daughter to the concept (ok ok she wore shades the whole time) - we brought home some nice stuff. I don’t just go in there all willy nilly. She got Two pairs of Old Navy cropped jeans, a pair of Gap Jeans, two decorative shirts from Old Navy, a dress, a denim skirt from NY&co. a brand new pair (tag still on them) leather sandles from Marshalls, a peasant blouse and something else. Mommy didn’t come away empty handed either! I got a nice skirt from Ashley Stewart, a pair of sandles, three shirts, and 2 halter dresses from the Avenue - we both came home happy.
After scooping Caun up, we headed over to little five points - which is like a portion of the Villiage for NY’ers, South Street for folks from Philly, etc. A cultural hub bub. There we went to a record store called Moods Music who were having an all day - jam session with various soul and R&B artists - we unfortunately, might not ever hear from seeing as they only play 12 songs on the radio at any given time. So much talent! Wine, Cheese, Fruit and vibing. Mini-me felt soo adult and I feel good that we continue to expose her to things.
This is CHIMERE Click on her name and check her out. Her music is in Heavy rotation in our home. Caun is doing some promotional work for her. Her CD is available on itunes.
This is Brandon, who’s work is coming out next Tuesday. (who chose Tuesday as new music day?) Mini-me and I were mesmerized by his playing and fell in love with that smile. SIGH. We stayed there for a minute just grooving.
Sunday didn’t see our activity let up. After going to the grocery store at 7:30 am (I love the quiet) we scooped up BCPC and headed to the Auto Show. I have no idea why I like going to the Auto Show, lol This is Caun and my THIRD YEAR. My how time flies, lol
It’s just so sad, lol lol lol Gotta Love Him! We had fun! I actually had a few cars that I wanted to see, the Dodge Journey, that mini-van with the table (that was hot) and Mercedes -
YEA the C-Class is a nice look on a sista, lol
And they think we letting them in a moving vehicle by themselves, lol I did notice that Mini-me is now tall enough to actually drive. I remember when her little head barely came up - now she chilling SIGH YIKES!!
