Why did I love this movie!

Well we caught the 6pm show, which actually was the perfect time. Everyone is enroute from work etc. etc. The whole rest of the evening was sold out but the 6pm wasn’t even crowded.

I have been on the fence about Tyler Perry, especially the Madea set of movies, but I have stuck in there like black folks do - we’ll talk about you like a dog but be front and center, lol lol

Well I’m glad that I stuck it out, because the brother is getting better. This movie rocked!

The cast was great - they worked well together and it flowed. Sure some things wrapped up a bit too ‘hollywood’, but overall it was a good job.  Ok Janet did a good job - her facial expressions had me rolling - Joe Jackson was present and accounted for, lol lol  Richard T is my new baby daddy. It took a minute to see Tyler in his role but he also did a good job.  Tasha Tasha Tasha - She was on fire.

I liked that he told this story and it was relevant, deep and adult with a PG-13 rating.

I liked that the characters were real and not so overly put together with their ‘money’ that they seemed unreal.

I liked that the men were allowed some faults but that the women were the ones who needed to examine some things.

But dammit if Tyler don’t stop stealing from my heart, lol Once again I’m all up in the movie theatre boo hoo’ing at a certain part by Jill Scott. Her words have come out of my mouth damn near verbatim and I got caught up. Glad I had my ‘Mountain Cop” there to wipe my tears.

Sometimes relationship movies can make you uncomfortable just on GP and certainly a movie about relationships.  I know that we are suppose to hang out with some friends (2 couples) later on this year and I’m cancelling that shit, lol lol

I enjoyed it, the audience acted great and I actually give this movie an A. I cant’ wait to own it.  I would have to say it’s ranking up and hovering around my love for “The Best Man” - it’s a solid movie.

I was really on the fence about going to see this film but after reading your review, I may just suck it up and go to the matinee showing in a couple of hours. I’m not expecting too much from Ms. Jackson but I would like to see Jill’s acting chops in something other than Girlfriend’s re-runs. lol

I’m off to tell Z to be ready to go cause we are off to the movies! lol

I adore this movie. I figured it was going to be good, considering the first 2 really hooked me. (We won’t talk about that mess of tv show though) He developed this storyline very well and I loved how real his characters were. I stuggled with him in his character too, but about midway through it worked for me. I think Jill did an AMAZING job, she was so believable, and her character really tore at my heart. I wont say anymore because I’ll start giving away the story…lol And the sheriff was delicious!

I can’t wait for this to hit DVD!

Hi Pam. I came away loving the movie too. I saw a clip of about the movie and someone mentioned that Malik Yoba and Jill Scott were going through divorces with their respective spouses while they were filming the movie. So, perhaps, Jill didn’t have to pretend to cry. Her tears looked real. But I loved Tasha. She said a whole lot of things that we were thinking. I look forward to Tyler Perry producing more movies and entertainment projects.
