Tuesday’s Five

Over the weekend, I began the task of copying my blog for my book.  I copied over 50 pages and I’m just on May 2005.  As I was doing it though, I began to realize just how much writing I had done. That thought process broaden to include everyone else I read and how much writing they had done and then folks I wasn’t reading and what they were writing.  I got quite humbled at the volume of our voices out here on this world wide web and feel honored to be apart of the African American Electronica Dispora.  Our voices are carrying far and wide, telling our stories, relaying our thoughts, dreams, fears, joys, sorrows.  This is some powerful stuff.  Have you ever thought about it and how significant your blog really is - it will be here after you are gone, your words are now in the history as public information.  That’s quite powerful.

I am going to leave Goddess alone about the plight of her friendship base.  She told me that the girls just don’t want to do the things she likes to do or go to the places she likes to go. She is going to wait until HS so that she can meet a more varied type of girl.  I guess she told me, lol  I just was worried because I thought she was worried, now that I know she’s not stressing, I will put that at the bottom of my list.

Speaking of friends, it dawned on me that if I’m honest, my friends and I are 90% shallow. We are not the type to talk about changing the world.  We wanna talk about celebrities, gossip, TV, Food etc.  We might talk seriously about our lives but we don’t talk religion, politics or any other important thing.  Funny.  What do you and your friends talk about or are you 16 like me and mines.

They are sending me cruise notifications and I am now drifting off into vacation land. Man I wanna go on another one.  I loved it.  So far the only trip we have planned is our free one we got via timeshare to Las Vegas. We’ll be doing that for our first anniversary.  I want to take some income tax money and secure me a trip for spring break. We would take Goddess with us. She wants to experience it.  I want her to get out of this country and see other stuff.  It’s time.  Lay on a real beach and get a real tan and then have CAUN beat some real international ass over her, lol lol  Open Message to CAUN:  Honey PLEASSSSSEEEEEEE CAN WE GO?

I miss my momma.  I want to see how to get her to visit me.  I haven’t seen her since January at the wedding and she hasn’t been here in eons.  I need to figure out how to get her down here for a long weekend.

Pam, I’m glad that you’ve started pulling material together for your book. I like the phrase, “African American Electronica Diaspora.” Did you coin that phrase? It has a lot of meaning to it.

As for me, I’m unsure of what to discuss on my blog. If I get too deep or controversial or political, it might attract weirdos. I just don’t have time to be fussing with them back and forth like I used to do in the chat rooms. But at the same time, I would like to discuss the things that I discuss in real life related to the economy, education, civil rights, etc. I just thought people may come for entertainment purposes and wouldn’t interact if I started getting into other subjects.

What’s up with cruise industry? Last Saturday morning in the wee hours of the morning I got caught on Carnival Cruise’s virtual web pages. I was on the ship in the sauna, dining, at the casino, on the beach, feeding the dolphins right in front of my computer. Dang, I feel like I have been missiong out. My cousin who just got back from a cruise recommends the Tom Joyner Fantastic Voyage (for more color), because her last excursion was really lilly.

Aziza - yea I just made that saying up, lol lol I haven’t seen it anywhere else.

I actually don’t discuss alot of politics etc. on my blog because I have labeled it a personal blog, thus I want to keep the genre kinda pure. I’ve lived in the chat room and discussion group forum as well and the reason I like blogging is because it’s selfish, lol it’s about what I say on my space, lol lol Some folks enjoy interacting with their readers and have all these comments and conversations. I read em and come in sometimes. I wonder if anyone comes back and reads the comments, lol

Tom Joyner is SOOO expensive! I mean like $4k for a room. Can’t afford to travel with the negroes like that. Carnival is the next one if you looking for color. Norwegian is lilly lilly YET it’s such a nice civilized cruise. If we take Goddess - we might have to do Carnival so that there might be some kids her age of color.

*Shazammm* I just saw that $4,000 room a little while ago. And many of the $1,000 rooms got the nerve to be sold out. Tom hurt my feelings. I guess all the money is supposed to pay for the talent. But still, that’s a little too steep for my pocketbook. I’ll have to go with Carnival Cruises. I want to see my peoples in the Caribbean.

I’m excited to hear you are putting together a book. I would buy it!

I’ve never been on a cruise but it’s on my list of things to do before next year.

My friends and I got your friends beat. We are 95% shallow. lol

I don’t know what %-age I would classify my friends shallowness as. It’s not as bad as it used to be though, lol

We normally don’t discuss politics either. If we do it’s because Bush is on the tv interrupting one of our shows. ha ha

Good luck with the book! I’m sure you will keep us posted so we will know when and where to order.
