Wake Up Dammit! (I Love that Petey Green!) How ya’ll be?! I hope everyone had a good weekend. For the most part I was on ‘operation turtle’ which means - I was moving slowwww, lol
I caught up with plenty of reading of the blogs - glad to see everyone is breathing in and out one day at a time. Welcome back Cheznikki! Ain’t 40 Fabulous?! One of the issues with reading so many blogs is that you don’t comment on all of them - but I do like to let folks know I’m reading and checking yah out. I even added a few new ones. One day I’ll update the sidebar.

The hubby and I attended a CD release party on Saturday. Miggie 9 released his poetic rock collaboration “Revolution Road” at the Kaboose. The set was nice, it was unique. The room was adorned with some fabulous artwork, including a huge picture of a vintage Mike. Unfortunately the air wasn’t working and it got hotter than bunk 9 in the Middle Passage, so the party broke up immediately after the set.

We got home a bit earlier than expected, walk in and Goddess is laid up in some get up, with one of my margurita glasses complete with fresh strawberry adornment watching a movie talking bout “what are ya’ll doing home?” LOL LOL Lawd that’s my chile!
Can ya’ll believe that July is for the most part ova!? Beginning Wednesday the countdown to 8th grade begins. I watched this movie Thirteen last night and went to bed with a migrane. I am doing my deep knee bends and stretches in preparation for this upcoming weekend when we do some preliminary school shopping. If among the shoppers you hear about beat down on aisle 12 - that would be me, lol lol We have NO real plan worked out on how to get her to and from school seeing as I now work downtown; but we’ll get it together……
Before I go - these two things can’t wait till wednesday and my celebrity blogging:
- So Ursher called off the wedding. Hmmmm - that was some good celebrity gossip, lol lol My official statement (lol) is that I think that celebrities who have entered the business as children are emotionally stunted in their development. They rush ahead due to the business and eventually their minds screech to a halt and force them to return to puberty. Usher is doing a classic “I’m a grown man now momma” move. He picked an older woman to decide to make his break and he is using her to ‘prove a point’ you know how your kids finds someone elses momma and decide they are better than you? I would rather see Usher get with a hood rat his own age if he wanted one and then they could fail honestly, if you get what i’m saying. But this old hood rat is nothing but trouble for him. If he wanna give away some money - hell he can give me some, lol I’m an old bat too, lol lol
- Well unlike the other two that really caught my interest and held it, I didn’t really like this one. I guess they could only sponsor five ladies - I wish there would have at least been ten. I also was not feeling the clothes, and what the hell was up with the ‘Fat Feet’ shoes?! The fashion show was mad short. I guess my other thing was that these ladies were not giving me any cutie in the face. I kept feeling like the make up and the hair was just all off. It all seemed rushed. I liked the pagent atmosphere better than this Paris thing. The professional models were fierce though. This brings me to another thing, we might want to really take a moment and start to really define what exactly is Thick/Big Boned, Fat and Fabulous and Obese. There’s ALOT of confusion about these and to be honest a couple of those women were just obese and their walk and movements etc. just defined that. I’mma need folks to tighten it up. I also want her to address with each woman if there are any health problems, if they are exercising etc. That way it will round it out and not just be about ‘they are fat and folks don’t accept that and neither do they’. Now the special afterwards where she went to the prison was interesting. That sista that’s in there for 185 years to life and went in when she was 16 - did pull at my heart strings. I give it a C+ this go round. I try to keep abreast of most things pop culture and I have to say - that in the big scheme of things, I personally haven’t seen a change persay in the overall mindset about being overweight - unless you count the obsession with those that are too thin. Maybe acknowledging that lends credence to the possibility that there needs to be some kinda medium. I will say that the quality of clothes overall has improved ten fold, but the average consumer is still alienated because alot of women can’t afford those high ass Lane Bryant prices etc. and $50+ dollars for a good bra - get the hell out of here! Not to mention in our communities - the super pluz size hoochie wear is NOT ATTRACTIVE and YOU ARE NOT ATTRACTIVE IN IT. As a fat and fabulous (because personally I don’t have the height to classify as big boned, lol which is a requirement for that title in my book) - I thin you should be giving much face, and even if you wear the same outfits week to week - make it a point to upgrade to fabrics and items that enlongate and compliment YOU and only YOU. As well as, never let them see you sweat. Part of the whole facade is keeping the huffing and puffing to your damn self, lol
Well as you can tell it might be one of those kinda weeks. I had so much swirling around in my head this weekend but was too lazy to come post - so it’s coming OUT this week!

“It got hotter than bunk 9 in the Middle Passage.”
Pam, you ought to be ashamed of yourself. You almost made me hit my head laughing being that I’m still in character as Harriet Tubman role at work. I’m going get in my underground railroad and runaway from work. *lol* Until I get another source of income, I’ll be Harriet and Rosa Parks.
Onto Usher…**Looking Both Ways Before Speaking**
I’m not one to gossip…..But this thang here is juicy. I’ve got to sing like a bird. On Saturday the news flashed that the wedding was off and that there were no more details to be releashed. Boom, just like that. Leading up to last Saturday, there was talk that Tameka got mad about Chilli for visiting Usher’s momma. Then I read about how supposedly Tameka had Usher to fire his mother as his mom-ager and another person as his publicist. I heard they weren’t invited to the wedding. Say what? How is a momma not going to be invited to a wedding? *Side eye glance* Then I heard that Usher supposedly had some words with Tom Joyner and some possible threat of violence (going upside Tom’s head) was involved for Tom cracking on Tameka. And then some news came out that Tameka had spent some time in jail for some offenses. They didn’t say what those offenses were. Shux. We all saw this coming. Tamkea: Bank Usher account denied. *hee hee*
Onto MoNique and her pageant. I was too through when I saw that whole body paint thing going on. What was she thinking? If the contestants didn’t feel violated by fat jokes before, I bet they felt violated when the artists had to run those paint brushes and roller sets over their rolls, nips, nooks, and cranies. *heave* That was too much going on. And you’re right. I know Mo’s all about good self esteem, but there needs to be a discussion about health involved in the show.
Usher’s problem is that he is one of those wimpy momma’s boys. It’s why he always seem to latch on to women who are much older than him. I don’t think it’s completely over with him and that woman, but I doubt the relationship will last.
I caught that movie Thirteen too. I can’t say it’s anything new really. You can instill all the values in your children, but more often than not, they will follow behind the fast talking popular tramp/jock at school. All you can do is stay on them, stay on them and stay on them!
Usher’s not sweet on his Momma, he just sweet! Im surprised he was able to ‘confess’ long enough to get his ‘fiancee’ (beard) pregnant.
That fiancee need to do like Star, Terri and Liza forgot to do… RUN!!!GURL! RUN!!! LOL
Thanks for the shout out Pamalious! You can see pics from my Birthday (The International Day of Love Peace and Soul) on my slideshow on www.myspace.com/lapanyma
